ULMA Architectural Solutions’ F400MF polymer-concrete drainage channels were used in the construction works on the Daugavpils Bypass section of the A14 national highway, from Kalkūni to Tilti, between km 8.315 and km 16.700, as well as on the A6 Riga–Daugavpils–Krāslava highway.
The drainage system formed part of the road infrastructure works, supporting the controlled collection and removal of surface water from carriageways, shoulders and adjacent paved areas. In highway environments, effective drainage is essential for reducing water accumulation, improving road safety and helping protect pavement structures from premature deterioration.
The F400MF solution was applied in areas requiring a robust linear drainage system suitable for road traffic conditions. Its polymer-concrete construction provides strength, dimensional stability and resistance to environmental wear, while the channel design supports efficient water flow along the road surface.
The use of this drainage solution helped address the hydraulic and load-bearing requirements of national road infrastructure. It also supported long-term maintainability by providing a durable system for managing stormwater in sections exposed to vehicle traffic, seasonal weather changes and road maintenance operations.
Overall, the application of ULMA’s F400MF channels contributed to reliable surface water management and the functional performance of the upgraded A14 Daugavpils Bypass and A6 Riga–Daugavpils–Krāslava highway sections.
